Virgin Media: Sending box back

I ended my Virgin Media back in June and got confirmation in July about it being cancelled. The reason I cancelled was because I hadn't lived in the property for a year (my ex was meant to complete a form to get it in his name. He didn't.) and now the property is uninhabited bar the landlady coming in every so often to pick up any mail from Virgin to send my way.

I had to get the packaging re-sent out but it apparently still hasn't arrived and I've E-mailed and replied to a text requesting it to be re-sent again, but haven't had a reply.
The landlady's son (who paid the bills to me in my ex's stead as he stayed in the flat while his house got renovated.) is going to check, but I was given a 7 day warning of getting charged.

I'm just stressing out and need reassurance that it's not just a lazy postman who can't be arsed walking up a couple flights of stairs who's causing me to possibly pay £150.

Can someone send me details of what the packaging looks like even? Just something that I can use as a guide to let the guy know in case it's been overlooked.

Ours came as a flat packed cardboard box with some cardboard inserts for the boxes and a small bit to put the router in. It was delivered by a courier, not the postie. It takes them a while though.

We switched to Sky at the beginning of December and it was into April before they sent me text checking our address and then about a week later the packaging turned up.

I dropped ours off at a collect+ point. When scanned It would have shown their end, where it goes from there is nothing to do with me as I fulfilled my obligation.

Were you given a pre paid package?

That's the thing - I live 200+ miles away from the property. I've asked the guy who was living there till August and he's not seen a thing through the letterbox.

One of the issues is that the postie who works the area where the property is is notorious for leaving stuff in the communal close because he can't be bothered walking the stairs to deliver the post! I did say this to virgin to try and get it sent by courier, but they said it just goes through Royal Mail and fits through the letterbox.

I got the text 2 weeks ago and told the guy and his mum (the landlady) to keep me posted and neither has seen anything delivered. I just really don't want to have to pay £150 for something that I have no control over. Hopefully if it comes to that, the guy or his mum will be willing to pay part of it.

I guess it might come down to you having to do a 400 mile round trip to get the Virgin stuff back and then speaking to Virgin and saying you've got them at your new property. Unless £150 is less than your time and petrol would be worth if you see what I mean

I've asked twice for the boxes to send our old ones back but they never came, although they seem to have forgotten we still have the old virgin box as they haven't asked for them back since I took out a new deal.

Yeah they said that to me and never sent packaging or charged me, I binned them after 6 months.

Try contacting them on facebook or twitter. Most companies seem to deal with complaints quicker and more seriously than via phone or email these days.
