Virgin Mobile Broadband plea for help
Hi there , looking for some help with my Virgin Mobile Broadband . I'm new to MB and I'm attempting to stop the data allowance running away from me but I've been rather unsuccesful unfortunately . I'm afraid to switch my modem on for fear of it running over my allowance and costing me another £15 . I'm on the 1GB tariff and just going on the web for browsing purposes so it should be sufficient really . However it keeps running away with loads of Data or to be more precise dl'ing loads of stuff I never asked for and doesn't inform me what it is despite me installing and adjusting Comodo Firewall etc to tell me everything that's going in or out ! I've got auto updates , flash and animations disabled and at one point had pictures disabled too but none of it has made any difference . I installed adblocker etc for firefox and used that instead of IE but to no avail . I can't leave it connected when I leave the comp for any length of time because it starts just racking up the data count as I've found to my detriment . Anyone out there who has any ideas what it could be could you give me a hand cos otherwise I'm going to drive myself nuts looking for the answer . It's a brand new laptop and I'm wondering whether me installing other programmes to help counteract the data usage loss will ultimately add to the problem because of their own updates ?
