Virgin retentions call back for just broadband

Hello everyone, this has probably been asked a thousand times but I couldn't find anything with a search. I'm currently on a broadband only deal with virgin paying £28 a month, my contact ends October 6th so I rang on Sunday to see what they could offer, the best they could do was £35 for 6 months, £38 for the remaining 6 months and a £50 credit. I gave my 30 days notice in hoping I'd get a call back offering me a better deal but now I'm worried they won't bother as I'm just a broadband customer with a pretty low monthly bill. Has anyone done this before with broadband only and if so how long was it before they called you?

    Thanks in advance!

probably better looking at new deals and change name... my last virgin retention offer wasn't great so left

I did this last year it was about a week before the end of contract they called back I was offered the 50meg broadband for £5 + line rental. I paid the line rental in one go to avoid the price increase.

I would say that's probably the best deal you will get.

Wouldn't hope for too much. I've been with them for nearly 20 years, called them up last week to cancel my broadband (all I have) and didn't even get so much as a "cya mate".

Customer Loyalty, it seems, doesn't mean a lot to Virgin Media anymore.

They do not appear to be calling back many people who give notice. It appears the few they loose through not giving a better offer is outweighed by the number who will remain after price hike. I renewed recently and had more success asking to upgrade my hardware. But I have full package.

I asked for a downgrade from 100/150 broad band + phone rental at £33 + £19 to 50 broadband only (no phone as don't use it now.)
They have come up with £39 for 50 broadband only.
Am looking to try Vodaphone. 76mps (guarantted 60mps) for £28.

Will be ringing Virgin later today and hope they can come up with a better price as I would sooner stay with them.

Before I hung up the person I was speaking to asked for my phone number so I'm assuming they will ring me back at some point with a better offer.

No call back yet, how long do they usually take if they do call?

Reduced my all in one package last momth from 70 pm (tivox2, xl, 150mb and PL)..

I now have 100 mb inc PL only for 35pm now. They also have me 30 credit due to the pending increase this month.
