If you don't have virus software ware running on ur laptop id give it about 4hours until you get a virus/spywae etc i would recomend McAfee total proctection i found it beter than norton price i think its £40 but also avalible from torrents bt if you download it make sure its a privare torrent site or you will be at extreamly high risk of getting a virus.

I would personally reconmend downloading AVAST or AVG free anti-virus protection and sunbelt personall firewall again a very good free firewall and then maybe spybot/spyware terminator these are all freeware programmes that are just as safe and good as any paid for software.

Just get avgfree from free.avg.com/dow…afe its better than the rest & its FREE!!!

after my computer got attacked by a virus i now use a combination of ad-ware 07, spybot search, avast! antivirus amd ad-watch 07. And never had a problem since

    Dont get paraniod about viruses.

They are not sitting there waiting for you to start up your computer so they can install themselves.

A virus can come via a web site, or a attachment to an email. But you have to visit the web site, or open the email attachment. If you do neither of these you are OK.

If you just go straight to the AVG or Avast web site, then download the software, then install it, then run the anti virus it is very unlikely you will get hit by a virus.

As far as I am aware the only viruses that have come into my computer in the last few years have been via attachments in junk mail, and AVG and Avast have always found them and warned me before I opened the mail.

guilbert u wanna adopt me u always answering my questions lol thnkyou everyone for taking time to answer

I recommend the AVG but the retail version including the firewall, free version doesn't include the Rootkit scanner.

For free anti-virus programs you cannot beat AVG or Avast but for better protection should you want to pay for it .........................look no further than Kaspersky [just the anti-virus version.ie .2008 or 2009]. I have used it for over a year now and it has stopped everything . I dont ever recommend using the all in one security versions and would never now recommend using Mcafee or Norton , once on your PC they dont like being removed . I did use them years ago but both are now what we call Bloatware and the Norton 360 is total rubbish , it seems to let loads of virus's IN .
So , get Kaspersky for a anti-virus , Comodo for your Firewall , and SuperAntispyWare and it'll be bulletproof . I also still use the old favorites SpyBot & Ad-Aware
