    Vodafone 12 Month Red 4G Plan - Unlimited Calls, Texts, 8GB Data, Free 6 Month Netflix / Sky Sports / Spotify - £14.21 p/m)

Got myself a sim free Galaxy S5 earlier this month...brand new sealed off Gumtree for a good price.

1 month left on my 24 month Vodafone contract (£36.80 p/m) which I was looking to cancel as I was eyeing up going with the £15 3 Sim offer.

Rang up Vodafone this morning and they offered me for £15.50 Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Calls and 8GB 4G Data, along with either a free subscription to Netflix / Sky Sports / Spotify, as I am already to subscribed to Netflix I get a 6 month credit applied to my account.

Asked if Vodafone could do anything better and they offered me a credit of £15.50, so the total cost per month is £14.21 per month / £170.50 for 12 months / £134.56 (taking Netflix credit into account)

Personally don't think that is a bad deal for a 'tier 1' network operator, admittedly will most likely only apply to customers coming towards the end of their contract.

Hardly a deal as such, if it's been tailored specifically to your contract.

To me this plan sounds great but not sure on what the signal quality is like...

I did almost the same thing, this week...

But had 2 numbers on a basic £13 p/mth tarrif and was planning to leave to go to 3 or GG

    I upgraded 2 numbers and got Unlim Text & Calls + 5GB 4G Data on 12 contract.
I took 12 Months Spotify and 6 Month Netflix
Didn't think to chase for free 1st month... D'oh!

As for signal quality - speedtest showed +20mb download and +5mb upload speeds on 4G

So have to say, I was (and still am) pretty happy with what I got :-)

I have 2 contracts that i was planning to cancel with Vodafone, hopefully they offer me the same in 3 months time

Was offered the something similar but decided to cancel. Chose threes unlimited data

do you still have to give 30 days notice before ya contract ends nawadays

I rang up middle of July and they advised for me to call on August 1st.

I believe the Red 4G contract sim they put me on is classed as a contract upgrade so my remaining month (on my 24 month contract) has been cancelled.

most providers that I know of do require the 30 days notice.
Also in regards to Vodafone, they probly have the quickest customer service. if you were to ring them up, it would only take a minute or so to get connected to a human, whereas ee/tmobile take forever.

oh yeh, their 4G is good but not everywhere. So it is best if you go to there website and see which areas are in the 4G coverage.
I know it is in London, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield and Bradford.

It's utterly irrelevant as you can't get the deal anyway...

I got offered a similar deal- half price red (with £26 credit). But only 4GB data, as indeed it should be (not sure why you get 8GB):

Still don't know whether to take it or go for Three's unlimited data and 600 mins for £18. That would enable me to drop Virgin broadband, which is about to go up to £27- £28 p/m. Decisions!

when calling vodafone on 191, which department is it good to speak to? i spoke to upgrade team few days ago they didn't offer anything special

Request the PAC code, tell them you are leaving as you can get a better deal/phone elsewhere. Be persistent and stick to your guns and you will no doubt get what you are after.

Be prepared though to quit your contract if they don't

I cancelled 3 of my lines and requested PAC code, don't think they care anyone all of them were on a 50% discount...
