same with me 1.50p increased .I wasn't told this when i joined the contract .

First off its not £3 more, you have 2 lines and they are treated as such in law.
Work out what the CPI is for this year and do the calculation. If it's £1.50 or more of that base rate then yes, nothing you can complain about.

I'm pretty sure the £1.50 will be just below the CPI allowed rate increase as my good mother was up in arms of 40-sonething pence increase of her £8 a month contract recently.

Edit RPI not CPI sorry

Vodafone increased their prices in April in line with RPI for March, which was 3.2%. This is written into the T&C's of all their contracts sold after May 2016 when they removed their fixed price promise.

I'm also with Vodafone, by the way.

It will be in the small print I'm afraid

Every phone line I've had have done this.. (I have 3 lines and have had 2 of them for many years. They increase them everytime within a year with out a doubt. Very annoying. I feel it should be fixed price for the price you take it out at.

i have double checked my contact mine went up from £19 to £19.66 .Then for a one off they increased it to £20.22p for just the one month. Not sure what this fee was for but they said it was a one off as mentioned in thier contract.

Shouldn't the increase be closer to 75p then I'd have thought come to think of it.

Problem is the company has rising costs (well Vodafone make a hell of a profit and is a bone of contention for many) each year Index goes up so does cost of fixing things, shame wages dont rise just as much. If I could get a good signal down here in Cornwall with another supplier I would, but Vodafone is pretty much 90% coverage here.

absolutely. i have had contract costs increase the month after i purchased it when it is a 12 months contract. it never really bothered me as the increase is small and i had a good deal in the first place.

so next year in april it will increase again, another £3 so this would make it £6 a month more than what I first signed up to....what a rip off

1. It didn't go up £3. You have two lines.
2. It didn't go up £1.50 you are mistaken.
3. You got your answer.
4. How about saying thanks for the info.
5. All mobile and fixed line providers do this.

Your actual bill went up less than £1 in a year.

it'll go up 32p for every £10 a month you pay before any discounts you may have are applied

People expect a pay rise in line with inflation but not to pay out in line with inflation.
The have staff too that also probably expect a pay rise.

It's economics.

You are quite right.
All info is here on RPI and Vodafone.

What if I have a discount?
RPI is applied to your monthly fee, before the discount is applied.

From Vodafone
hotukdeals.com/vis…%2F
How much will prices increase each year?

The actual adjustment is dictated by the RPI rate published by the Office of National Statistics in March (consumer contracts) and January (business plans) each year.

As an example, if you use figures based on the most recent RPI rate published in March 2017 of 3.2%, prices would be affected as follows:

A Pay monthly contract of £47 a month would increase by £1.50 a month from April 2017
A SIM only contract of £12 a month would rise by 38p a month from April 2017

Ive just had a strange thing happen with Vodafone. My contract was due to end in August 17, I only checked it about 3 weeks ago. Two weeks ago I received a text saying they were increasing from £22 to £25 a month. I worked out it was more than the RPI so went to give them some trouble but they had already ended my contract without telling me. So I got to upgrade early without a fight and am now with 02 as Vodafone wouldn't do me a good deal despite being with them for over 10 years. Im happy but Vodafone just would not budge on what they could offer me.

You must be paying close to £50 a month for each line. What was the amount you signed up for?

It usually states that prices will go up in line with RPI right next to where you sign the contract.

i was paying £47 per line with £40% discount on both making it £28.20
but they add rpi before discount

i won't mind this increase if VF gives a RPI based salary increase to its staff if not i woupd contest them specially if you got your contract via third party.
