Vodafone Low Cost Monthly Deal - Opinions?

Wondered if anyone can see if this is a good offer from Vodafone, bearing in mind I am a light user.

I fancied going to a monthly contract to try and curb my appetite for buying mobile phones and have been with Vodafone for a while on Pay As You Go.

I have tried sim cards for all the other networks, but Vodafone is the only one that works in my village, hence the wonderful deals from 3 and T Mobile are out of scope.

Anyway, Vodafones website were offering a £20 per month deal (18 month contract) with the first 3 months only being £10. This includes 100 anytime, cross network mins and 50 texts (this is fine for me).

With Quidco being £130, I thought this would still be pretty good. Total expenditure of £230.

But I have called Vodafone and they would be willing to offer me 9 months at £10 followed by 9 months at £20. Total expenditure of £270. OK no Quidco but at least my monthly budgeting from Day 1 would be low.

Do you reckon this is an ok offer??

Any advice/alternatives greatly appreciated but please bear in mind:

I am a low (ish) user so 100 mins and 50 textes is fine
I live ina village and I have tried all other networks but ONLY Vodafone work

better off going the quidco route rather than take vodafones offer save ya self 40 quid, to be honest you be better to go for the sim card deal think its 15 a month you get so many texts and mins, plus u still get quidco for it

But if i call Voda direct, I only have 9 months at a tenner and no waiting for Quidco! I have also considered the sim only deal but with the above offer I'd prob go for Samsung F470 which I like look of and it'd be Free (or maybe the W890i?).

I would also sell my SE W880i so ......

Thanks for feedback though - rep added

I called Voda today and managed to get 250 mins and 100 texts for £12.50 per month for 15 months and last 3 months at £25 - includes Samsung Steel. Very pleased!
