I think that having very little command of the English Language is a prerequisite , in my experience of Vodafone customer service .

so its no longer available on handset contract deals???? ie 24 months contract with handset??

You won't have to do alot.

i worked for a company for a few months between jobs that handled incoming calls for Vodafone customer service although i wasnt employed by vodafone directly. it was nearly 10 years ago now so my experience probably ist hugely relevent but the impression i got was it was very much like other call centre jobs. The perks werent great and it was reasonably intense 10-11 hour shifts with 30min lunch and 30 min personal time on your phone that you could use for toilet breaks etc. I didnt stay long as it was only to pay the bills whilst i was looking for other work but i didnt like it and felt like it wouldnt be something i could do long term

Is this a customer service advisor (external customers) role or an internal service desk advisor role?

Can't really help with how Vodafone are as a company as I've never worked there but ignore all the comments above and dont let them put you off, looks like everyone assumed you'd be in the call centre for customers.

Service Desks are usually a fun place to work (if its not a MSP). The problem is the job is quite repetitive but always a good foundation to a career in the sector.

Thank you for the reply, my understanding is the role service desk advisor is basically logging faults and giving ticket number to business customers, and then passing all the information to the engineers to get their network up and running within the SLA (service level agreement). so there is no sales or anything to do with mobile phone contracts involved. Just wanted an honest review of this role from anyone who has worked within this department.
