VoIP calls for mobile users (Voipcheap.com)

To make long story short - if you are Voipcheap.com customer (it might apply to other Betamax companies such as Voipbuster, etc) then you can make international call via your VoIP account from your mobile.

It works quite simply - dial 01617002626 from your mobile phone and then dial number abroad. The system will tell you how much you'll be charged for the call.

To make such calls, you need to add your mobile phone to your account. Remember that Voipcheap is pre-pay service rather than post-pay.

This is worth a bump, Kommunist knows his VoIP stuff.

Is there a rate sheet on their website or somewhere for this service Kommunist? It sounds very good. Right now I do roughly the same by using a skypein forwarding and adjusting the number but that's obviously really clumsy compared to this solution.

AFAIU, the rates are the same as for VoIP calls.
Here is their statement (you need to login to Voipcheap to see it):

Use your credit for regular calls Make good use of your credits and make cheap regular and mobile phone calls via our access number: 01617002626

    Here's how it works:

1). Make sure you have entered your home and/or mobile phone number in your personal details so you can access our local rate numbers.

2). Call 01617002626 (at local rate) from your home number or mobile phone and wait for the voice prompt.

3). You can now enter any (international) number you want, and VoipCheap connects your call (always use the international format for your calls, for instance 0044201234567 for a UK call). Costs for the calls will be settled via your VoipCheap-account at the current ]rates . After entering the telephone number you want to call, you will hear the current rate of the destination you are calling so you know exactly what each call will cost - in advance. Freedays do not apply for this service!

The 'Freedays' thing basically mean that there will be no free international calls to EU, US and other destinations. In such case, charge of 0.8p (that's 4/5 of a pence) per minute applies. Here is rate list for these destinations.

It's very good, I have joined and can now phone my mate in Australia from my mobile for 0.01 euro a minute. (Using my free minutes)

I did try to call my sim4travel number and it told me to hang on and nothing happened except it took 0.40 euro from me (0.20 a minute) so disappointed with that.

I will register my daughters phone on this and then she can call me when I am away for pennies. (just not on my mobile)

I am not sure about sim4travel as I never used them (I've got company mobile phone, so they pay for my calls when I go abroad :)), but I am glad that calling normal lines worked for you.

sim4travel uses a Liechtenstein number. Unfortunately like I said it just went silent and my other phone did not ring.
