Probably best to wait for another deal on an RX 5700 XT like this: hotukdeals.com/dea…318
I picked up a used 1070ti for half that a year ago, still going strong and runs VR at very high settings

Any idea where could pick one up? Looked on eBay and all very expensive for a used card

Just checked my old ebay emails it was £180 last May, it was a buy it now and was newly listed, maybe I just got lucky there. And you are right prices do seem quite high now. The minimum requirement for VR was a 1050ti which I had before the 1070. The 1050ti was ok when the settings turned down. I have an oculus rift and to be honest haven't used it recently.
I dont have VR nor do I want it but at time of its release the min spec gpu was a 1060 so technically speaking an rx 580 should be fine - sits around £140-180 price mark.

The recommendation was at least a 1070 so would agree with the 1070ti or a 2070 if can find one for the right price.
