    Wall security

    Hey!
I've had my shed broken into recently, and it appears that the intruders climbed over my wall.
What suggestions are there for the best deterrent to stop them climbing over?
I've looked at wall spikes but unsure if they would do the job?

    Thanks

carpet gripper is a pretty cheap option , i think there may be some legal thingy regarding the height of your wall and what you put on top . vandal resistant paint , black sticky tar like stuff that never dries - i think you need to put a sign up making people aware of it tho. : )

    trellis is good

b and q used to do small sharp cones on long (60cm x 3cm? ish) strips wich you can screw into the top of walls etc - aren't going to kill anyone but very painful to put your weight on them - plus cat/bird friendly etc

You could put up some trellis initially, this gives height but is poorly supported and therefore difficult to climb (but can often be pushed away if not fitted well) - having plants grow up it makes it more difficult again. You can get a heavy grease to smear along the top too. Remember H&S issues with whatever you do select to do along with accidental contact.

I've seen in some countries they use cement and broken glass usually from bottles.

    cheap solution...

Problem is they say they are only 45mm wide, from the picture that makes the spikes about 10mm! Better than nothing though, may be a deterent.
More aesthetic than razor wire and broken bottles which is what the thieving barstewerds deserve
