WANT TO SEND OUT 1000 + TEXT MESSAGES

Anyone any ideas of a cheap way to do it? 18185 are 3p a text but they have a fair use policy but don't say what it is, I've emailed them but it might take weeks for a reply. Any other online places that I could send texts from? I could buy a mobile phone/sim/package but it's only going to be used during this summer probably, so don't want to sign my life away It's an idea to save money on postage costs - text members to read the newsletter on a website with a link instead of posting it out to them. I have 2 orange payg mobiles and access to 1 virgin and 2 on 02.
Thanks in advance for any info, ideas

Send out an email? That's much easier to do and free.

I personally wouldn't be too impressed if a company sent me a 'spam' text. I'd expect my mobile number to only be used when contacting me regarding an order..

Stop spamming people, anyway just get an O2 simplicty sim for a month … Stop spamming people, anyway just get an O2 simplicty sim for a month with unlimited texts. But if you use a phone it will have to send them one at a time and take forever, you need to use a webservice designed to do it really. I blocked ad texts on my phone though to avoid rubbish like this.

o2 wouldnt allow this anyway, it'd be classed as spam.

I'm not a company! It'll be texts that people want to receive about where to meet, what's happening etc. email is good but I don't think all the addresses are up to date.

Bagsy not paying for the ale for it though  :whistling:

all opinions welcome, I expect there are things I haven't thought of, like mobiles that know that a text is part of a bulk texting or something. I'm not very tech savvy, just want to save time & money.

    I'm interested in this too.

My uncle's organisation would be interested in this too as some members don't check their emails daily/weekly but would read a text message (as it's on them).

*Edit* I forgot we actually looked at this during our consultancy report.

    Check out this site: bulksms.co.uk/w/s…htm

    This is their pricing: bulksms.co.uk/w/p…htm

    It might be of use

Although a simplicity sim would work out cheaper....
