hi all,

my girlfriend lives in london (i live in leeds) so we need to get the train to see each other, where are the best places to get return tickets from friday-sunday?

are there any deals about at the moment?

as always thanks fro any help, always appreciated.

Have you thought about using the megabus or national express, Ive always found these to be a lot cheaper than going by train (although admitedly) they do take longer when travelling between leeds and london

otherwise use www.thetrainline.com and book well in advance for cheap fares! Are either of you a student - consider getting a student rail card

When looking on the various train company websites you will notice that many of them use the www.trainline.com engine.

I found that by booking tickets through First Great Western www.fgw.co.uk you have access to the same fares and tickets but you save the booking fee. You don't have to travel with First Great Western.

If you don't mind coach, National Express are doing single ticket deals at the moment, so just get two singles to make a return trip!

thanks, but i'm currently in a dispute with national express about how their staff treated me at Lonodn Victoria. i'd rather walk than use their services again!

thanks again for the input. :-)

hmmm... there's a 1/3 off deal on some East Coast advance train tickets (including London to Leeds)... only catch is that these services are also run by National Express

railcards are currently 25% using METROF25 (irrc).. Just look on the Metro.co.uk site. This was in the METRO paper on thurs/fri iirc

you know, if you give us dates/times etc, we can have a better look for you. you should be paying no more than £10 each way imo.
