Wanted: Good Freeview box to replace Humax F2-FOX-T

I have a Humax F2-FOX-T DVB-T (Freeview) receiver set top box which due to software and memory limitations only shows program title information in the EPG instead of information about the program. I've been waiting ages for Humax to fix this BUG but they don't seem to be bothering so I'm looking for a new STB to replace it.

I would have liked the Sony VTX-D800U but they have stopped selling it everywhere so I'm looking for advice about which box to buy. The remote must be responsive (so that rules out the Philips DTR210 that Tesco sells) and the remote should be able to control the volume on my Sony TV.

    Any advice?

I'd keep looking for the Sony one - I have got that and it has never once gone wrong for me - although I can't set it up to record from freeview to VHS...

You may wish to consider this - only a single tuner but consistently well reviewed and reasonably priced at £66.49 + £3.05 delivery (use 5% Tecno5 voucher).

...forgot to mention Sony (like Philips etc.) don't make these - their box is a rebadged generic one that I believe may be based on the Daewoo product - perhaps a more geeky forum member could confirm that.

I don't want to appear ungrateful but I just want a simple STB not a recorder. I already have a Panasonic DVD/hard disk recorder with Freeview, I just want this to watch live TV and I don't want the noise of a hard disk distracting me.

Excellent idea though. If I wanted a recorder, I'd probably have been delighted to find one so cheap!

    Thanks
