Thanks for the suggestions - Tesco one is not great quality.

And i am not a fan of Diamondback as a brand sorry.

The Rock rider 5.3 is probably the best spec'd bike for under £300

I think my post got deleted not sure why, was i doing something wrong?

and for the price this is the best bike you would be able to get, its not new but its close enough.

Happy to answer any questions you might have and will upload a photo if you would like.

I've had a Decathlon RockRider 5.x for almost a year. Use it every day for the comute and some trail/light MTB. Can't recommend it highly enough, loads of bike for the money!

Its cool!

Try chainreactioncycles.co.uk, wiggle.co.uk, evans.co.uk

For £300 you should be able to get a basic Specialised, GT, Kona etc, all of which may have less bells and whistles than cheaper brands but almost certainly be superior.

Get a copy of MBUK too, I used to read it all the time, lots of pages from proper bike shops with cracking deals often.

GT Palomar at £250 not even reduced would perhaps suit?
