Wanted: Potential amazon voucher buyers to think first

hotukdeals.com/ite…-75

See my last post on that thread.

OP's profile shows he is still dealing by pm as I type. I suggest anyone who is in the process of buying to be alerted to the possibility that there are scammers selling vouchers bought by stolen credit cards. The OP may not be one of these, but it crtainly has all the usual markings of such a scam.

EDIT (12:37): A mod seems to have moved this from the FS/T forum to Misc. without saying so. Since I have banned myself from misc. I cannot post in the thread without giving away £10 -- so I'm staying out of it until it is acknowledged that posting in THIS thread does not count as posting in Misc...

I was involved with someone who did exactly this - i.e. sell me a voucher that turned out to be bought by stolen credit card. If the OP is legit, he will come on this thread and post details about himself that are verifiable - I have the email address of the previous scammer and a mobile number he gave me and an email address. We could first of all make sure none of these match...

IF it is dodgy the person could still have diff mob and email address

He tried dealing with me. Im afraid that i've been scammed before so I ain't gonna take chances. Ive withdrew my offer unless he provided my with some details.

samy any update on your end?

bazzaric bought the last one off him, with seemingly no problems, so might be worth asking him

Just had a pm from someone that this is the same guy (same name) who tried to sell me a voucher that the store confirmed had been purchased by stolen credit card. The seller came up with various excuses about this but eventually stopped responding to me ... luckily I withheld payment ...

Yes, I've pm'ed bazz. The problem here is that if they are purchased by stolen credit card, then there won't be a problem until much further down the line - i.e. after the card-holder has noticed and reported the fraud and (if) it is then followed up by the authorities... the codes will work fine. But it wouldn't be nice to have the police knowcking on your door asking where your amazon voucher came from, would it..?

It seems the norm now for alot of vouchers to being bought with stolen credit cards.
My GF fell victim to some virgin balloon tickets. all looked real, only when she tried to book that she was told they were bought with stolen credit card.

SCUM SCUM SCUM.

so people watch out

If it is stolen, is it likely that you cant use the vouchers if amazon finds out?

my guess is yes...

forget this post.
