    Wanted: Sat Nav WITH Bluetooth

I'm after a good Sat Nav but it must have Bluetooth so i can pair my phone up and use it as a handsfree device as well.

Have seen the Navman S80 Deluxe and also Tom Tom GO520 for around £129 (Halfords) and these both look pretty good.

The main thing I'm after is the handsfree aspect of it so out of the 2 above, the TomTom looks better as it has TTS and voice dialling. I'm also after a SatNav so thought best to combine the 2 devices as one and have one unit!

Does anyone know of either of the above for cheaper or anyone recommend an alternative but really not that much more than £120 ish?

I've been there with PDA/Mobiles and would prefer to keep the mobile phoe separate (especially as I change my mobile quite often!!) so no N95's/M96's etc etc

    Cheers

Ok - will have a think but hubbie says shd go for one with TMC and cameras but will def bear this in mind!

ok no probs hubbie knows best;-)

Do you really think it is a good idea getting a phone kit built in? You will be forced to use your sat nav whenever you want to make a call, I think it's a useless gimmick and a decent sat nav with a proper phone kit is a far better option.

Can i ask if anyone has any opnions on this comment? I'd prefer an all in one unit really and don't mind if you have to set the satnav to something like maps only whilst I'm on the drive home from work?

If anyone has any thoughts (good or bad) if they have a combined unit that'd be great!

pghstochaj - do you have one?

I thought it was the be-all and end-all, I thought I needed a handsfree enabled sat nav unit. However, I quickly found that as a handsfree unit it was lacking in quality, but mainly because you tend to only set up a sat nav (bracket and power cable) when you need to use it for navigation, not everytime you want to make a call or receive a call. Hence it starts to get silly and the handsfree element is not very useful (unless you never receive calls whilst in the car and will set it up every time you want to make one).

Personally I would go down the route of either a hardwired bluetooth phone system and a standalone sat nav device or a device like the visorblade sunblind bluetooth kit and a standalone sat nav. My new car has a built in bluetooth system and sat nav so I no longer have any problems, but I would never consider a two-in-one unit again, it seems to miss the point of having a bluetooth system.

I have the go520 t, a nice bit of kit, but i would say that the bluetooth connection / text
connection is not as tomtom would have you belive.. my w810i is listed as not being
compatable.. where it actually is.. and my g-f 's samsung g-600 is listed as is..
but text will not work.. that said all in all.. a good buy at £109 from e-bay..

i bought mine 7th July last year and have used it every day doing about … i bought mine 7th July last year and have used it every day doing about 150-200 a miles a day so it cant be that bad?

Compared to a fully built in bluetooth system it clearly is lacking, but regardless of that, if you use sat nav whenever you drive it makes reasonable sense, but most people don't.
