Warner offers to exchange old HD DVDs for new Blu-rays, usual conditions apply

Got a pile of HD DVDs you want to trade? In the US, Warner has just made it easy by launching its Red2Blu mail-in campaign. Perhaps stung by belated guilt after effectively ending the format war for Toshiba, the Studio wants US residents to swap-out their dusty HD DVDs for Blu-rays, for a small fee and handling charges. Each consumer can exchange up to 25 HD DVDs.

All the studio wants is the original sleeve insert, and $4.95 per title plus shipping. Youll then be sent the corresponding Blu-ray disc. Its a neat idea, and one that almost certainly will not be replicated in the UK.
