Just a heads up, if you are going to a book store try and use cash to pay with -

Dad has just tried to buy some books from a discount book store, about £20 worth. Tried to pay by card and had problems, then halifax have called the house and said that they suspect fraud and have put a block on the account. All sorted now, but they said that they have had a lot of fraud lately with people buying from bookstores so they are doing this as a precaution if its not somewhere you usually spend.

Not heard of this before, usually its very small amounts on itunes etc to test the card, or phone top ups. This is the new one though and halifax are being a bit over cautious

Thanks for the warning Julia x
