Warning - Lovefilm Retail sell USED games as NEW

Just received my copy of Star Trek - Legacy (i know, i know) which I ordered over a week ago (ultra quick delivery then!).

The game was unsealed (no cellophane or security tab), the disc has a few minor scratches and the instruction manual has a big greasy fingerprint on it!!!

NOT impressed.

Just a heads up for those intending to use them, bunch of cowboys.

totally, I wouldn't have minded (obviously) if they'd sold it as 2nd hand, or even ex-display. But I expect something sold NEW to be sealed and wrapped.

bunch of crooks :x

I had the exact opposite at hmv (there trade in rules seem very strict) and got two sealed games that were used, came to a total of 1.89 and was well pleased.

good to know,was that instore?

yeah (some games are out the back and some on display) seam to try and cannibalism some *old* new games and sell them quick by saying they are used?

call them it may just be a one off a mix up i am sure they will put it right if you give them a chance

You should not expect a new game to be sealed necessarily.

A lot of shops "gut" the copies for security.

Although in this case they are clearly selling a used/returned copy.

i recieved a dvd boxset which was the same place elsewhere new
and it wasnt just used the box was broke ive contacted them twice and they still havent replied

whilst i agree, it's not on, why don;'t you do what a normal person would do, contact them and get them to send a new copy out. I'm sure they will be appologetic about the mistake.

I've used Lovefilm a lot, and been fine all the time.

Why slander a company before giving them the chance to correct their mistake?

ah, that's really bad

kinda proves i'm not the only one.

big companies should be getting it right 100% of the time, to send out an obviously pre-owned game is simply shoddy.

Do you live in some fantasy world?! ALL the biggest companys get it wrong at some point. Amazon, Play, Game... i could go on and on.

Get in touch with them like any normal person would and stop moaning.

I agree in part, but they shoud have strict guidelines in place to not be sending used games and advertising them as new.

They seem fairly reputable, this aside.

PS - Grex, you could amend the post to say..."sold me..." not "sell". Thats saying that they sell all games used.
