Warranty Help

    Hi guy's,

I need your advice, i bought a Sony 32" CRT 3 years ago from the Sony Centre. At the time it cost a grand and it came with a 5 year warranty. Now the tubes gone and they're offering me either £450 or a TV with the model no. kdl32u2000 which is of the same value. Now they said it would cost £750 to repair it so thats uneconomical so shouldn't they offer me a TV of the same value as the one i bought or is that asking for too much? Especially as the TV they're offering me is the cheapest in the range. Anyway i'd really appreciate your advice on where i stand.

I would have thought they would have to replace with the same tv or tv of the same quality, i take it they do not make the same tv anymore?

Unfortunately they only need to replace the TV with an identical model or if unavailable one with the same or better specification. As long as they don't offer you one that is worse than your old one then there is not a lot you can do.

Take the £450 and buy a 32" HD LCD TV from a deal here and you'll have money left over to treat yourself.
