some questions.

A. comparing 2 samsung laptops:
Samsung R20 / Core2 Duo T5750 2.0GHz / 2GB / 200GB / DVD-SM / 14.1" WXGA / Vista Home Premium / Laptop / Notebook (569.99 pounds)

why is the first machine, which seems to be equipped with better specs, cheaper than the second one?

B. i suppose either of these machines comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty, is that right (the web pages dont seem to have information on warranties)? if so, can anyone tell me where in the uk can i get the manufacturer should anything happen to the machine bought please?

thanks a lot in advance.

thanks calmacuk.

i contact samsung uk just now and was told it should be a 12-month warranty.

nevertheless, i started to wonder whether the laptop sold by play.com would be considered to be a ''uk laptop''. samsung uk was not able to provide me with a good answer and i havent found a way to contact - interact - with play.com.

wonder whether i should take the risk.

Slower processor but other specs much better,

under the sales of goods act 1979 you get another 5 years warranty on all eletrical items anyway. just keep the reciept!

but could anyone tell a computing idiot like me

A - what is the relation between processor speed (e.g. 1.8ghz), memory (e.g. 1gb) and hard disk space (e.g. 300gb)

B - what are the factors that decide speed of processing when quite a few applications are opened and running (e.g. ms word, ms access, powerpoint, ie, firefox, yaoo messenger and windows messenger, skype and icq all opened and running at the same time)?

A decent dedicated graphics card,
nicer display,
4x USB,
VGA HDMI ports,
better imho

I assume accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty?
