Hi all,

The family washing machine recently gave in after some years, anyone have any recommendations about new one out there? Probably something under £400 freestanding, washing machines aren't in my expertise

LG and avoid anything that just gives a parts warranty, labour charges are £120+ and makes a cheap machine expensive.
Bosch
LG
Siemens.
Miele, but be aware of the brand machine you say you have a British Gas’s service contract with certain models you have wait extensive times for parts, as was told by British Gas for my Miele washing machine it’s a expensive machine and the parts are expensive so we have to order your part from germany. Apart from this which wasn’t Mieles fault brilliant machine
Dont buy Whirlpool brands like Indesit (owned by Whirlpool)

If something goes wrong you will be waiting for years for a result.
Don’t buy whirlpool

Currently around 390 but has been on offer around 360-370 approx as not sure. I got it a year ago and apart from little sock stuck in the door sometimes, everything is good.
There's a Euronics store network deal on Bosch at the moment, many local shops are in that network... support your high street
LG
For me Bosch, can’t fault it (ok they sent me one still with factory settings for Child Lock 1st one)
Which John Lewis changed before Bosch engineer told me about it. Only just got my 2nd Bosch in 19 years. Use it everyday sometimes twice like it’s. I often use speedperfect & quick wash and use eco for bedding.
