Washing machine sometimes leaves oil stains on clothes?

Looking for some advice, we’ve noticed our washing machine sometimes leaves oil like stains on our clothes, its a nightmare as it pretty much makes it unwearable. Just the other day it ruined my favourite t-shirt by leaving a oil stain on it. Anyone got experience with this?
