Great watch especially In preparation for the new Spider-Man No Way Home

BBC will ask if you have a TV License and I'm sure, everyone here is a law abiding citizen.

Technically you don't have to pay for a licence. The BBC iplayer will ask for your postcode and once inputted it will ask if you have a tv licence ( yes or no ) if you click no it will link to where you can buy one and not let you watch anything, if you click yes it will take you straight to the website where you can watch whatever you want. The BBC thinks that everyone in the UK is honest and won't say they have a licence when they don't, they really need to stop bullying people with the licence fee and switch to a subscription service or an advertising based service, it works for Netflix, Prime, YouTube etc etc...

I'm not going to argue the need to drop the license and let them fund themselves, but at the moment it's what has to be done legally

The real question is why are they asking for your postcode if the thinking is that they don’t check the response?

Until the day they actually restrict who gets to use iplayer. But then all the people will be used to it and want it so will pay. Well that's part of the idea. It's actually amazing to see how many people slag off the BBC, don't want to pay the licence fee but are happy to watch lots of BBC content. Especially true when it comes to Strictly etc
