    Water hammer????

Help my upstairs toilets have started making the most awful noise when flushed I think it's called water hammer but not 100% sure. Any of you Diyers or anyone with experience of how to deal with it and stop it from happening. Thanks

my dad turned the pressure down on the pipe that feeds the water to the toilet. that sorted it for us...

We had this a while back, turned out that one of the pipes wasn't clipped to the wall properly, just replaced the clip and it stopped!

A stopcock will not reduce the pressure it will only reduce the flow, to reduce pressure you need a pressure reducing valve.:whistling:
