thanku for ur input so far...
budget is about £250 -£300?
32 " or above
wud like one ov the newer hd freeview ones but suppose thats pushin it with the budget....?
built in dvd ??maybe?
and hdmi so can use it as a monitor?
and usb port ?
wanted toshiba or samsung but maybe thats pushin it too?
or we have a tv that we cud trade in for a sony?
any help on this minefield gratefully received

thanks:p

Its difficult to recommend a tv larger than 32" if you have ambitions to use it as a pc monitor as anything above that size at 1080p and you may start to notice a limit to the resolution powers of large screen tv's. A bargain at the moment is Samsungs 32" LE32B550 at argos, it currently £70 off at £349 and meets or exceeds all your requirements with the exception of inbuilt DVD which would probably be a mistake due to more to go wrong and with blu ray players recorders etc that feature would soon become obsolete anyway. I use one as a pc monitor myself and am amazed at its abilities as both a monitor and a HD tv.
