Website Price Matching

This might just be an extraordinary coincidence, but I posted a nintendo switch deal which was normally 23.99, but if you applied a 10% code at checkout, then you could buy it for 21.59.

The next day another website had the same game on sale for 21.59

Does anyone know if this is an algorithm in action, or just someone has contacted them to price match, or could we use this website to create our own prices for stuff?

It is difficult to make a suggestion without you offering information about both retailers.

Then again, some involved in business can deduct 10% from a competitor's selling price, & then change their own pricing accordingly, without the help of an algorithm, contact from the public, or any other web site (this one included).
I doubt it, i dont think a algorithm can see applied discount, because once thats happened it should be in the secured area of the site https, so i would hope an exterior program would not have access at that point, its more likely diligent staff or customers demanding price match imho
