My 6 year old heard some swear words in school and now says them all the time.I have tried telling him off, punishing him and just ignoring him but he still does it.So before you blame the parents maybe you should think about where they could have heard it from.Won't always be from home.

i must admit i did laugh at it!

no it isn't all down to the parents, but i'm guessing other kids here it off their parents and then bring it into school then all the kids pick it up as it's a naughty word.
My sons 6 almost 7 and everyones a chicken nugget at the moment and when he thinks he can get away with it an idiot. then when youre stood in the school playground all the kids are saying it this and other things and some parents don't care.

thats really harsh:x A note home would be enough.

You seem pleased he was punished in this way.I would not have you teach my kids.

Sounds like you work in a similar area to me-a 5 year old called a TA a fat b###h yesterday, unfortunately that was nothing to what another child called the Head, can't get my head round it at times.

when you are there in school and you know the parents/carers/famillies you do get to know where they pick it up from trust me!

I understand-feel the same too, love my job (most of the time!) but sometimes it does get you down, Each day is different and usually more ups than downs, I agree.

i think alot of people dont understand unless you are in that enviroment as i know of other people with as i would call safer schools i just happen to work within that area but as above it is rewarding and challenging which i think makes you the stronger person and a greater more able pupil 9 out of 10

well you are the only one to read it that way do you not think that sometimes and most of the time it is for the pupil/s own safely and well being of them and them around them that they are sent home?

I have to say u seem pretty negative....I think this was a kinda light hearted, although important issue, kind of thread!

Yes I do indeed especially when it is a safety issue.Calling you a faggit wasn't putting anyone at risk and I'm sure the kids have heard worse in the playground. He was punished for calling you a faggit.

thanks hannah19790 in my job if i was to be negative then there would be no hope or point being there.
