Wet room - should painted window seals be treated?
Hello, my elderly mother has just paid out around £6,000 to have a wet room installed at her house (to a company who were recommended by her local council). My father is disabled now, so she decided to have the bath taken out and a disabled walk-in shower installed - also paid to have the toilet (room next door) done as well. I went over yesterday to take a look (toilet is still being done). Floor to ceiling tiles have been put in, new lighting, wall heater, the ceiling has been painted, walk-in shower is in and a new sink, a special flooring (not tiles) has been put down as well. However, I noticed that the old green, flakey paint on the window ledge has just been left. Surely, if all of this work is involved in installing a wet room, the old window ledge would be included as well - treated or painted again? I asked her, and she said that the man has not done it. If it's a wet room now (window is right next to the shower), if just left, won't all of this paint just peel off even more? The wet room looks lovely but is ruined by the old, green flaky paintwork.
