    Wetherspoons, anybody work there?

    Banned
I know I know, not the best job in the world but I'm unemployed and this is the first break Ive had for a few months.

Ive read some horror stories on the web so whats it really like to work there?

Ive worked in the kitchens of independent pubs and restaurants in the past but haven't had the experience of working for a corporate monster before.

Doesnt matter if it aint the best job in the world - good on you for going out there and getting a job

Just go to work with an open mind - keep a low profile to start with and suss out the others.

    Good luck!

Well done on the job. Sure you'll love it.

    anybody work there ???

Probably only about half of them ;-)

    ps
    good luck with the job

Even if you do hear some horror stories, the one you have a job at could be a really good one. Also remember, people usually say a lot more when they have a bad experience than when they have a good experience, so there usually will be more negative than positive

Cant tell if you have been offered the job from your OP, if you havent then good luck, if you have then congratulations!

    Thanks for the comments.

Yes Ive been offered the job and I have to accept of decline it by Monday.
I shouldn't have to think about it really, I should be snapping their hand off.

I'm quite new to the area so haven't got any idea of where is and isn't a good
place to work, unlike where i was previously living.

well this is a great way to meet people and build up a network of friends :-D look forward to it and let us all know how you got on:thumbsup:

I'd accept - a job's a job and even if you don't like it they always seem easier to get when you already have one (my experience anyway!)

Every job has it's pros and cons.

Congratulation on the offer - no matter what you decide

even if someone does work in a wetherspoons, its doubtful their experience will mirror what yours will be, different area, collegues and customers, a job is a job and i think its what you make of it that counts, good luck

Your hesitation seems to be suggest that, despite being unemployed, you have some sort of luxury of choice.

So tell us what your other options are and we'll talk through them together.

I know someone who worked there and didn't find it a problem - in fact liked it but had to leave because it clashed with his full time position. Good luck - hope it works out :-)
