What are my options if phone failed 3-4 times?

hello, fellow dealers. you're looking hot tonight

jokes aside: I have a phone which failed me 3 times in last half a year. 1time I sent it of, they just flashed it. the next 2 times they sent me a replacement. now I am having problems with it again(can't update firmware).

what are my options? would you know of any law which says that if device fails certain number of times you can get your cash back, or alike?

help appreciated.

It needs to be repaired within a reasonable amount of time, quote sale of goods act to the supplier and you should be ok. Be careful though because some of them try to refer you to the manufacturer and get away with dealing with it.

But a HTC with a decent OS?

TBH, if you have had two and can't update the firmware, it is probably your PC software that is knackered, maybe the drivers for restore or something.

Like most things people get in for repair, it is normally user error.. And being a iPhone user, that makes it all the more likely..

If you have the same fault 3 times, you are entitled to a brand new replacement, instead of a repair/refurbishment.

As Chiptivo said, it's most likely an issue with your computer, although should you be updating the firmware? Most, if not all recent mobiles have "Over the air" (OTA) updates. I noticed you tagged Nokia, which my Nokia 5800 supported OTA updates. That's pretty old so I assume any newer handsets (decent ones) would also support it?

Hope this helps?!

I'm pretty sure that the sales of goods act 1974 states that if you have something repaired you then have no right to a refund. You might get it as a gesture of goodwill if you asked but I wouldn't bank on it.

well spotted on the tag
it's E71 I keep having troubles with.

the firmware update is one thing, but the phone keeps freezing and alike when not connected to computer so that's why I'm concerned.
still thanks for the input
