What are Peoples Views on Gearbest?

I want to purchase a Xiaomi Redmi Max but just wondering what peoples experiences have been with Gearbest? Are they the best Chinese site to source these phones from? I got an Umi Rome a number of years ago from Bang Good and it caught fire while charging. I do not want that to put me off as I know people have had good experiences.

I like gearbest, the phone I'm on now is from them, as are about my previous 5 or 6.
as we speak one is on its way.
    numerous stuff from them.

My friend tells me that Xiaomi's official shop is on AliExpress.

But not sure if your phone catching on fire whilst charging is due to where you got it from - just manufacturers' fault.. no?

Used for 2 years no problem
Bit different if you have to return something faulty.

check out the app called geek its great order all the time.only thing can take four weeks plus to come direct from China. but worth it.

banggood is … banggood is betterhttp://www.banggood.com/Xiaomi-Mi-Max-6_44-inch-3GB-RAM-32GB-ROM-Snapdragon-650-Hexa-Core-Smartphone-p-1054022.html

Looks very familiar to the pixel that have you got it is it any good, what's it like when typing messages is it responsive and does it work well with predictive text when typing compared to ios messaging.

    Will add my 2p's worth.

I ordered a Elephone P8000, received within 3 weeks working perfectly even after 8 months.
Ordered 1 X M8S mini 2, working perfectly 6 months, ordered a second Mini 2 as an Xmas gift, arrived 2 weeks before xmas, tried to set it up but kept getting errors. Reported to Gearbest, sent them a picture as proof, paid them an additional $15 to cover postage I believe and they sent me a replacement. They did not ask for faulty one to be returned.

So for me anyway, they have been pretty good and will certainly use them again.

They've been great for the 3 times I've used them!
Once even sending me a personal discount code in place of an expired code just so I could purchase an Android box.
They are on here as Gearbest1 if you need any help from them.

OK so you went for the 3gb version as they have the 2gb version on ebay it's 20 quid cheaper but you reckon it wont be as good

AliExpress is your best option. Gearbest and Banggood are shops, while AliExpress is like Chinese Ebay. If you get into a dispute with Gearbest or Banggood they will just flip you off and you going to end up with a broken/damaged thing and no money. AliExpress works in a different way and they will sort everything out between you and the seller (like eBay does) - I've had over 20 disputes on AliExpress in the past year, always got my money back. Plus sellers on AliExpress will usually declare lower values on custom declarations if you ask them, while the other two shops are not very keen on doing that.

got the  NILLKIN Frosted Shield Matte PC Hard Back Case For Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro Redmi 3S (1071078 ) for a fiver too, which is the best cover I have had for a mobile yet.

+ 5-7% cashback with the TopCashBack and some other site (can't remember, maybe QuidCo). When you buy phones from them, they include a 1 year replacement warranty in UK for additional £10. I am sure you don't get that with either Banggook or Gearbest.

this looks like good value for a note size phone £166 for 64gb 3gb rom

I got an Mi5 Pro (2.15Ghz, 128GB storage) from the same shop (Hong Kong Goldway) on AliExpress for £250 including express shipping. Would definitely recommend. Don't forget cash back.
