Compared to a belkin skype wifi phone (around £80-90) should i just get an ipod touch 2ND/3RD GENERATION only (obviously) which has many more features?
Will it be able to make skype out calls if so can it call out to landlines? How clear is it? Is it easy to hear the person on the other end? Most importantly i have a skype in number. Will it be able to receive calls, and if so how easy will it be to hear it ring?

Has anyone had any experience with this.. this is intended for business use so its pretty important that it has all these features.

Thanks in advance.

I use skype on my ipod touch as my "landline" phone and I use it to call landlines all around the UK. Call quality is very comparable to traditional landline phones when using a wifi connection. All you need to remember is that the stronger the wifi connection and the faster your broadband internet connection then the quality of the call will be excellent. I havent had any problems with it and I have been using it for the best part of a year.

The only thing I didnt like about it was that you couldnt use a bluetooth headset with it. That would have been the icing on the cake. A true portable comms and multi media device.

Go for it!

you'll have to buy a compatible headset, coz the ipod doesnt have a built in mic.
but go for it

are their any good ones... couldn't i just use this thumbtack and therefore use it like a normal phone, because the microphone is attached? switcheasy.com/pro…php. If so then the only problem is that i've heard though that you can't hear the ipod touch ring because they've disabled the speaker funciton.. is this true?
