i think a point and shoot, i am thinking of the fujifilm f200. Has some good reviews but cheapest i can find is 205 so its bit expensive!

Personally, I'd recommend an SLR for that price seeing as you get far more flexibility and much more for your money, but obviously, you might want something pocketable.
Take a look at TrustedReviews.com, they do great reviews and you can just search for the highest rated ones and research those.

Bridge camera could be good, Fujifilm do a nice line which seems reasonably populay.

buy my fujis5700 off me, great camera

 cheers am after a compact camera that fits in pocket really

I trawled the net reading review after review before I decided to go for a Pentax Optio A40 Very nice, well built camera. My other camera is a Nikon D80
So if they're still available then I recommend the Pentax A40

Any lumix tz series. One of the best lens' you can get imo. got a tz3 and it is awesome. wouldnt buy anything else. Leccy bits by panasonic and they have got the lens of leica so it is a very good build.

    Canon ixus 75.

Have one and its perfect as a point and shoot!

3" lcd screen too. Great reveiws on Amazon etc so its not just me saying its good.

    Bought it for £120

I got a [SIZE=2]Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 recently and would recommend checking the specs out on one, seems to do everything I need and more without all the extra lenses and I can't believe how light it is great for the flight bag!

I would recommend a DSLR especially the sony A200 its great for beginners.
