What do teachers use on a daily basis?

I run a large education show where the main attendees are teachers

I am putting together various sponsorship packages and was wondering what you thought might be a good present for them - something they would use every day

I left school far too long ago to remember and have no children!!

i have thought of the obvious such as pens and pads but thought you guys might be able to come up with some original ideas. Needs to be cheap as i need 25k!!

    Thanks guys

my wife works in a school-she isnt a teacher(child psychologist) but she goes to all these trade fairs/open days with the teachers-best freebie they ever got was a lanyard with a card holder on the end-most schools nowadays the teachers have id cards/canteen cards/electronic door entry cards etc.

I was looking at USB sticks but i think they are going to be too expensive even at this quantity. I have been quoted about £2 at this amount, but would need to go through a company to get them im afriad

I know it was in your OP, but really pens are the thing...

Every teacher uses them, every teacher has them gradually pilfered by the kids so always needs more.

The only other thing not mentioned is mugs... They normally seem to end up in a staff room somewhere being cycled around other teachers and so spreading your message?

Depending when your event is diaries & planners might be out (mostly ordered during the middle of the summer term in time for the autumn).

Is this all teachers or primary / secondary specific? Any subject?

On the pens front, look to a more expensive / unusual pen rather than the plain white biro with your logo on it. One of the better freebies I got from the BETT show a while back was a triple highlighter. Triangular in shape, each corner was the cap to 1 of 3 different colour highlighters. I used that for quite a while.

    Post-Its

    Board Rubbers.
    Board Markers.

Most classrooms have both an interactive and an 'ordinary' white board.

I don't know if it just things you use in the class room that you want

You could add herbal tea bag, a bath bomb, soap, foldable hairbrush, perfume / aftershave samples, chocolate. Something a little self indulgent.

    Just an idea

We do too.. not as many classrooms though.

What about a remote finder... something on a keyring.. something on the remote that buzzes.... I can never find the remote for the projector !!

My brother is a teacher, I would say stress reliever would be the best option, its something that everyone likes and teacher NEED! Something different from pens and keyrings that you get all the time, but still cheap enough for you to get a lot of

One of the best things one of our teachers got from a fair was a retractable pointer-looked like a pen but pulled out like an electric car aerial-kids love being 'pointed at' also useful!

novel items for the classroom are great,,
    funky post-its
    stickers
    novelty stampers
    torch
unusual coloured tac (like the pink blue tac that was around at one time)
    coloured sellotapes
    unusual sand timers
A toy character (for younger classes) that has a diary and little packed bag for the children to take home with them as a reward at the weekend.

list is endless but really depends on what age you are aiming at.

Oh good thread - i am always complaining about what i need or have run out of. I have been to the education show (for the last 5 years) and think that this years was the worst - focused too much on furniture (desks and draws, pe equipment).

Ill probably be repeating waht people have already stated, but it woulod have taken ages to quote all of them.

    Post-it notes
    stickers
small prizes or rewards (e.g for best table at end of each week) pens, pencils, rubbers, small toys
    certificates
    Whiteboard pens
    whiteboard rubbers
    whistles with good thick straps
    coloured pens (marking)
    blu tac
trays to separated pens etc for teachers desk
small instruments (used in lower classes to get attention)
small cuddy bear/figure (to use in circle time for children to pass around)
