WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS PC?

Is it a good one? And is it a good price too?
It is only used for surfing the web, emailing and not a great deal else.
    Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't spend that much for a PC considering what you want to use it for.

its over the top for you, you just need a simple setup

You can get a decent laptop for that money and have the flexibilty of where you use it. Like Predikuesi I would say thats an awful lot for a internet pc.

Thanks WantOne. Don't really want a laptop - don't mind the computer being in the same place all the time. Also, prefer not to use wi-fi connection.

Thanks Predi and wickedteen. The pc we have just now is about 9 years old (cost us £1,000 back then and doesn't come anywhere near the spec of the ones we are looking at now). I imagine it will be another 10 years before we upgrade again so we want this one to last. I also keep photos on the pc, say around 50 a month, the children have some electronic toys that connect to the pc and we have a couple of mp3 players in the house.

i went on to a custom pc site today, god they have some very expensive pc's on there, i put in all my pc spec, just to see what it would cost now to re-build it and i was suprised, just over £1700.

It'd do what you need, but for that price range you can get a quad core if you look around, which will be a little more future proof. 17" screen is smaller than standard these days as well, nice 22"s from £89 on here recently.

What a great site, thanks. Very informative, and in a way that is quite easy for a 'not very computer literate' person like me, to understand.
