What is ASDA's substitution policy for online orders?

    Banned
Is it the same as Tescos where they find an alternative product but price match the original ordered item or do they charge the full price of the substitute?

Tried their online FAQ but is as Java errors and doesnt work!

    Thanks

If you add a product to your trolley and we find it's out of stock, we'll always try to find you something similar. For example, if you ask for a small packet of ASDA Digestive biscuits, in the unlikely event that we've run out, we might give you a larger packet instead. (Don't worry, you'll always pay for the lowest priced product.) If you don't want to accept the product we've sent you, just hand it back to your driver and we'll arrange for your account to be refunded.

Took that out the help section for you.

hi they will charge the same if it is a higher substitution or less if it is less. i personally hate substitutions the last one i had they swapped my tomatoe and basil pasta sauce for a salad dressing lol.

our store has had some classic substitutions..

A woman ordered a strawberry jelly, out of stock so the picker substituted it with KY jelly!

Yes they do. They will even put the stuff in your cupboards for you if you prefer!

Anyway, substitutions are shown at the top of your receipt so easy to reject / accept them

the substitutions are all in a seperate bag when they turn up and they are clearly printed on top of the invoice too so it only takes seconds to decide if you want them or not.

It's normally a bonus when things are substituted as you tend to get something worth more - mind you last time they swapped 6 free range eggs for 30 barn eggs which isn't very similar.

what I don't get is why they substitute some stuff but not other stuff? Last time I got 3 substitutions but 2 other things not in stock - why not just substitute the not in stock stuff too? It was only cat food and cheese buscuits!

I havent had groceries ever delivered that didnt have substitutes its ridiculous to think such a large supermarket doesnt have what you need, I like warburtons thick wholemeal bread and never get it always gives out some bread thats so called thick slices are 7mm thick, I measured out of curiousity cant imajine the normal slice thickness, and when toasted is like melba toast, once fancied mussels in brine, ended up with mussells in garlic sauce which is vile,Im more than ever convinced the substitutes are the slow sellers or unwanted food items,,asked specifically for ox liver 4 times and always get lambs liver they stated when phoned not any difference, big difference between a lamb and an ox ,hohoho of course we have to consider maybe pickers cant read english on packets..after festive time over wanted doughnuts got rich fruit cake covered in marizipan,, sadly I cant take sugary items due to illness, so birds are well fed, Alas wee must grin and bear it.

When do they actually refund the money for your unwanted substitutes though? I order a toddlers training seat for 3.50 but got a baby toy worth £6!! Still not the same kinda thing is it lol Not wanted tho so i gave it back to the driver.
