What is it with Tesco!?

I have been in 3 different Tesco stores today after seeing a suit in the 1st.

The 1st had the jacket (reduced in the sale) but no trousers to match.

The 2nd was selling the suit at full price.

The 3rd didn't have either!

just checked the website and the jacket is a totally different price (more expensive!) than the 1st shop!!

Why can't they just price everything the same across all the stores!

They should honour the price of the 1st store being as it's the same shop but a different location!!

maybe the 1st was selling the jacket reduced because they didn't have the matching trousers?

The same thing happened to me in Asda with a cardigan, I paid 3 quid in my local and saw it in another for £9(I got it scanned). I wanted to buy it for my DD but for 3 quid like I paid the first time, the other Asda thought I made the price up and that I was trying to pull a fast one!

why?

Because they are useless. Its all about Asda

why?

Because it's unfair to other buyers to have it reduced in a store that they can't get to, but full price in their local store. Say if the OP couldn't get to the other stores. Why can they afford to reduce it in that one store, but not the others?

The store had a spare jacket with no pants so of course it is worth less than the full suit in another location. If the other store honoured the reduction they would be stuck with a pair of pants with no matching jacket. To reunite the spare trousers and jacket would cost in fuel and logistics.

every store is run as a stand alone business with its own budgets and p & l accounts. like i said before whats popular in 1 store might not be in another, managers discretion....its all about stock control

why stop at tesco why not complain about houses. why is a 3 bedroom semi x3 more expensive in london than in leeds?

Comparing the prices of Tesco and houses aren't the same. We all know the prices differ area to area, this is a business that is bulk buying in items at the same price and distributing them to stores around the country. So the suit that they have bought in from abroad which cost X amount, it'll be the same cost to each of the stores.
If the Tescos is within a few miles of each other then I can't see why can't honour the price. I can understand that they couldn't reduce the full price of the suit, but if the jacket's reduced in the one store, then they should honour it in the other. Whether you agree or not, I really don't care.

not case of wether i agree or not.....prices are not the same cross the country for various reasons

stores are there to maximise their profits, just becuse 1 item doesnt sell at a certin price in 1 sore doesnt mean it wont in another....if it sells at the higher price whats the point in reducing it

regional variations is not a new concept
