What is the best blu-ray player in th market which is value for money?

just bought a new tv and i was looking for a bluray player, i then discovered many problems within them e.g some dont play the new titles, some arn't what they claim to be.

what is a very recommended bluray player which will do the job very well and is qiuck to load up and can do some extras e.g divx.

thanks in advance for the replies

Panny BD35 or a Sony one are both £99.99 or less if you can find one in currys. BD live + profile 2.

Curtis player is £39.99 but only profile 1 (can play disks, but not all features)

PS3 for upgradability, but poor gaming console - and you pay for it.

    +1 I think so too.

    yes get the trey

I got this one at Richer Sounds:

    ]LG BD370

Its supposed to be the fastest loading Blu-Ray Player on the market, get really goods reviews, and can be connected to the internet so you can upgrade the firmware on it for future releases.

If you're not interested in the games on a PS3 then I'd go for this one.

I'd go for the PS3, hands down - it's an excellent Blu-ray player and is always being updated so can be sure it will be able to play all the latest blu-rays.

thanks for the replies, ill be looking for a ps3. what if i want a stand alone player what would you recommend.

    rep added to all

If you want a standalone player I'd still recommend going for a PS3 simply because it's the only one I'd trust to last a good amount of time as the market is still fairly immature for standalone players.

How do I find the right person, then? :?

Is there a secret knock?! ;-)

The Curtis one is available for £110 on the Asda website still, and can be made region free for both DVDs and Blu Rays. It's the only one under about £350 that can do this.

Found one! Found one! Found one!!

    Yay me!! :w00t:
