What is the cheapest Android Tablet - Want one for Java / Android development

    Hi

I am learning Java at university and fancy creating apps for android (more of a practice thing rather than for profit).

What is the cheapest tablet that runs android?

Don't want to pay crazy prices, to be honest it doesn't even have to be new, if any one is selling one I may be interested as long as it works.

cool, will check them out. Thanks!

Also, you can download a live version of android to run on a pc. I run this on my netbook android-x86.org/

But for ARM based apps you will need to run an emulator instead

good, may save me a purchase, install it in a VM.

The Android SDK comes with an emulator. Links in nicely to Eclipse, if that's the IDE you use... no need to buy a device to test on. Would take far too long to debug problems that way as you have to sign and export an .apk file, install the .apk on the phone/tablet, then see if it works! However, it's nice to see the fruits of your labour on a real device when it's finished

Personally go for the advent vega or the samsung one
