Paper doesn't grow on tree's you know......
I have no ideas about reams but you can get a wide range of A5 project books from the works if thats any help.

Why does it matter?! He just wants paper!

OP I would say Staples or an independent stationer, you could also try the printers, because they pay wholesale prices they can sometimes sell it for cheap to you!

well I like to print labels on A5, and then they are easy to apply in document wallets

Well it depends if you think about it, I would say they sell 1000 reams of A4 to every 1 A5, so production costs will be higher.

If you are that concerned you know what you can do?

how about this... print on cheaper a4 and fold in half..

yes.. I know its a bit out there, it may blow some people minds.. but such a radical idea may just work.
the pound shop does 150 sheets of A4 suitable for
inkjet printers/laser copiers/photo copiers/fax machine
ideal for: project work/Arts & crafts /Drawing/Colouring

Tesco was wanting sumthing like £5 even though it was
more paper sheets..

Had a look on eBay?
