what is the difference between a 1 and 2 channel heating/hotwater programmer

I need a new central heating/hot water programmer but not sure if i need a 1 or 2 channel anyone help?

It all depends on the configuration of your heating system, combi boilers tend to be a single Chanel programmer, as hot water is on demand, ie the boiler heats it as it's required. Systems that have a hot water storage tank and central heating, tend to have a duel Chanel timer as you can set the hot water timer separate to the central heating timer. Hope that makes sense.
