Twelve banking groups (Barclays, HBOS, HSBC, RBSG, Lloyds TSB, Nationwide, Alliance & Leicester, Co-op Bank, Abbey, National Australia Bank, Northern Rock, Danske Bank Group) have committed to implement the scheme. Between them they represent 95% of the payments made in the UK. The other banks and building societies will be making decisions on how, when and if to join the scheme over the next year or so.

Are they the ones that are in it? -found it on a different site-

It used to be called CHAPS but there was a fee of £25 for each transaction, not sure if its this that you mean

Isn't it just the new bank transfer thingy?? Most banks now allow you to receive any monies you're sent within a few hours??

Faster Payments is an industry wide project, which some banks are already using. For example if I trans from my NatWest account to my RBS account it is instant (as same group of companies) this will soon be rolled out across the whole banking network so any bank to bank transfers are instant.

Tom, CHAPS is prob what you want
