Why not just get a cheap car?

Quads + busy roads = death (Death arrives much quicker if riding a cheap chinese, monkey metal QUAD)

if your a mature rider, you should have no trouble in riding a quad.
i have a dinli dl801 270cc quad,and its great fun.
if your new to quading, go for a nice reasonable 250cc engine.plenty fast enough for uk roads
if your serious, dont go for a cheapo brand, skick with quadzilla/dinli, yamaha, suzuki, apache. these are well made quads, with dealers in the uk,and parts available if needed.
do you have a bike licence? if not you can ride them on a car licence but i recomend you do a cbt first, get a bit of qualifed tutition before you go it alone.
also check insurance, not all places will insure quads. falcon were very good for me,beat any quote i could give them (a quick google search will find them)
and remembder, even though you dont have to, ALWAYS wear your helmet.

let me know if you need any more info mate

no probs,happy to help out.
also, good luck in getting the job.

Very annoying and very dangerous. One of the quadders around my area thought it would be a right laugh and skimmed the side of my car, he went flying. Could have been killed.

Buy a car.

Well he sounds like a right t**t doesn't he? I intend to ride 4 miles up the road all of which are a 30mph limit on, have traffic lights, roundabouts and school crossings. I'm a 36 year old married man who has respect for other peoples property/vehicles, I passed my test at 17 first time, I have never received any penalty points/been pulled over by the police etc. I looking to sell my 2003 reg Avensis to free up some money and save on insurance, tax, depreciation etc and just buy something to get me to work.

You can't get more chavvy than having a road quad.

"Yeah mate, look at me riding on de road on a byke wiv no elmet on. Innit?"

The only people I have seen driving / riding them are people who look like they should be on CCTV footage on Crimewatch.

theres a lad whos got one round our area. he rides it like a tool, parks in it disabled bays, wears no helmet etc etc you get the picture. i cant think anything more chavvy than riding round streets on a quad. fields, farms & tracks fine, quiet residential areas NO

I actually do live in the country, and the sight of quads, tractors and combine harvesters is the norm everyday. I can look out of my living room window to the view of fields and have cows at the bottom of my garden. We do however also get dominos pizzas delivered around here from guys on mopeds, I suppose they are chavs too?

You are quite sad.

A moped sounds like a better fit for what the OP has described of their daily journey.

I am going to get one, my actual question was could anyone give me any advise on which one to buy, not to discuss whether they are chavvy, dangerous or even if you don't like the noise they make, any pointers or helpful comments are gratefully received.

I think quads attract the yoof who act like d!cks whatever they are drive or ride. Quads being (normally) noisy and being ridden fast attract attention and the attention is drawn to the d!ckish nature of the rider. If I'd have been able to get Microns for my bikes the same would have applied to me. It has applied anyway thinkin about it without the Microns

If you are after saving money, the terrain fits and your health is OK a pushbike (road bike) would save lots.
