    What Laptop would you recommend?

Hi do you have a laptop that cost £400-500?

    Is it good?

    What is it please?

I'm particularly interested in Dell, HP, Fujitsu-Siemens, Compaq and Sony models

    Thankyou

Do you just want a bog standard everyday model or one that plays the latest games?

There were some rave comments about a Acer at comet

remember Quidco cashback if you consider a purchase.

I have an Acer Aspire and never had any problems with it *touch wood*

The only down side is the battery only lasts an hour so if portability is important you would probably be best looking elsewhere. I only use mine around the house though so there is always a plug socket near by.

There should be some new dells tomorrow morning which will be worth a look at.

    thanksyou guys, appreciate that :-)

if you want a really portable laptop, go for the dell 640m.

battery life is amazing (esp. if you get the 9cell battery upgrade for an extra tenner or so), it's light (2.5 Kg) and compact (14.1" screen) without being too small.

it's also pretty powerful (dual core) the only not-so-good aspect is the graphics which are onboard (but so are most at this price range).

    hope that helps
