What Place in the UK would you like to live or go back to :-)

Following on from Meadsy's thread, I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can say where we'd love to be and why :-)

Personally I'd emigrate at the drop of a hat, the whole country is going down the toilet. If I had to choose though then I guess Chester or York.

Chester was one of the places in the North I always thought was quite pretty, and as a youngster thought that would be where I would choose to live, then I moved South, best place I lived was just outside Guildford. Even though I started the thread I still dont know of one place Id truly like to live and feel I'd be happy there, I guess I just haven't found it yet

Chester area for me as well - I mainly grew up in Shotton, over the border.
I don't know why but the older I get the more I think that's where we'll settle for our old age. Something to do with the accent and the humour. Good people in that area, mainly!!;-)

Lol, that just made me remember a precious moment, about 13 years ago I looked into moving out of London and popped up there with my daughter who was 10/11 at the time to look at a house and the private girls school, she was being shown around it and looked out of the window and saw the fields and asked if it was the running fields, only to be told it was the racecourse, yes, you had to be there to laugh, but is one very precious memory I have

st ives i loved it there but i know my partner would never leave london and i would never leave him so im stuck in london x

    Leeds

If I had choice it would be Poole in dorset followed closely by Exmouth in Devon. If anyone is thinking of moving to Oxford or Henley DONT, there both over rated and expensive.

Well you will be momentarily diverted by the fact that when I was 12, I had to have my tonsils out and went into hospital in Chester. The NHS being as it was in those days, I was put on a 'women's ward' ( imagine the long term effects:w00t:), had the op, woke screaming etc BUT because I was young and when I was getting better they moved me out onto the balcony. It was literally the balcony!! So out from the ill ladies, into the fresh air and Chester Races on the Roodee were on - saw the whole meeting from a free fresh air grandstand view. Brilliant.

Haha, how lovely a memory xxxx

I would love to live in the country, but would have to take all my family an d freinds and kids freinds and Local with me

I love Somerset. Little village just outside Bristol/Weston-Super-Mare called Congresbury in a house with a balcony overlooking the cricket pitch.

I would love to live in Salcombe as well. I love it there.

Definitely Edinburgh for me, I stayed there for 4 years while I was at uni, absolutely loved the place.

    norfolk

20 years ago, I got married in he seychelles, I am going back there for my 25th anniversary

+1 on this. North Devon for me. Had a great week there recently and have friends living down there who have a great lifestyle (if you can call surfing before and after work great - and I do).
Having said that, if I have to stay living in my current home in the Cotswolds then that's fine too.
