Thanks for that, just looking now  Do you think it's worth waiting till later to see if price comes down anymore or not? I't not his B/day till September.

Also, What should I have printed on the back do you think? England player that he likes name and number or his first name or his sir name??

Sorry for all the questions, just wanna get it right lol
Check to see when the current shirt came out, there may be a replacement coming up.

current kit lasts until 2012.
New one just before the Euros - typical.

Thanks for that.....although he wouldn't be too fussed to be honest as long as it's England - could be from 1990 with all he cares
saw it for £28 in sd yesterday, my son has had his sir name on the back of most his shirts and number 7 cause dad has 8 (not sure why lol)

last england shirt i bought i bought from here and it had lampard on, he also really likes that.

not keen on the new england kit, more like t shirt than football shirt imo. my youngest is after the brazil kit, but that was £35, he also has barcelona, england are rubbish lol

Thanks for info hun, SD???? This will be my son's first kit so want to make it right. He does have a normal sport shirt that he has his name on the back which he loves but wasn't sure if people do that on proper kits. I see now that they do, thanks again ;-)

lol tempting as it is.....he's just 6 so I best not:lol:
Does he support a club football team? Maybe a player from his team. I think your own surname usually looks silly, to be honest. When i used to get shirts i always just left them blank
Have a player name and number or nothing, not own name.

No, he doesn't really, he's only really just kinda getting into it and he changes his mind on who he supports from one day to the next lol
Yh, that's wot I was wondering but then I spose as he's only 6 it would probably excite him more having his own name. Oooo the decisions!!!
i would wait if you get name and number as hopefully this shower of sh$*e should all be told to get lost
sd, sports direct ;-)

mine in nearly 7 too, youngest is 4. their surname was put on their saints shirts and is quite cute when they and daddy all wear them. 6yr old likes lampard on shirt as thinks its a bit 'cool'
I always had my own name on the few shirts I bought.
I'd go for his own name / nickname or nothing.

Players come and go and if he doesn't have a favourite player then it's not really worth it.

Personally I'd go with nothing, he'll look at it when you first give it to him but probably never again.
crap ?

inept ?

dont get an England shirt .. get your club shirt ..
"wahey!!"

ok thanks guys, opinions (funny ones too) much appreciated. Am thinking I might ask him (not outright lol) but am thinking he might say his name.
Thanks again xx
Dont buy any England outfits , shirts etc . these are now classed as fancy dress items :-)

im getting Boyd 9(i think he uses that number) on my scotland shirt

things are much simpler when one of the players has the same surname as you

Unless your surname is Heskey
I'd avoid putting his own first name on it - gives the weirdos of this world a helping hand in knowing how to approach kids - the child thinks the person knows them as he shouted his name etc and doesn't realise they got it from their shirt. My nephew was approached outside his front door while on his bike by a guy in a car who shouted on him (had his name on the back). Neighbour was just getting out her car so the guy scarpered but she took a note of his reg. number and handed it to the police. Sister now only gets his surname on his shirts now.

Bit long winded there - but better safe than sorry!

I was only replying to what the OP had actually asked - a player's name, first name or surname? And yes people DO put their kids first names on - as others have already said - though don't imagine many adults would
Personally I'd go for his own first-name along with his date of birth as the number.
Put his first name and then eithert his age or favourite number. Do not bother with players names and numbers as they change pretty regularly at international level.
does he have a nickname?
My little boy is 6 today !! , he plays football in a league and he has got a few kits, and like most kids changes mind on who flavour of the month is (and what the kids at school also say) but up to now he has had, Gerrard, Torres,(yes liverpool supporter!) and the latest ,his England kit we had his first name and no 6,(due to his pending bday, and hoping we would still be in the world cup for it:roll:) but a lot of the kids in his football team either have there own first name or fav player

Ps, i asked discreetly btw, as in '' son , if you were lucky enough to get a kit like blah blah what would you like on the back !!''
