What smell takes you back (please keep this clean)

Was talking for some reason to Kaits about this and for me its Hyacinths, they have them in my local M&S and when i used to walk in there the smell would hit me and i would be 4 years old again and back at my primary school where they had them everywhere, so strange, could remember everything about it in an isntant just due to the smell of the flowers??

napalm reminds me when I was back in nam.

Rotting carcass. Brings me back to the time when I was 7, and got back from a two week holiday to find that the food dispenser we had for my pet gerbils failed, and that they had all starved to death. The smell of that hit me as soon as I walked through the door.

To tell you the truth, sometimes I smell that same smell and I have to leave the area, find somewhere quiet to sit by myself, and try not to cry. Couple of years ago at an old job, that happened to me. I somehow found myself nominated as the guy who had to retrieve and dispose of a mouse that had drowned in a pool of water at the bottom of a vending machine that was stinking out the shop. I did it, it felt horrible, but it was just that smell that got me. I recall spending the next hour hiding in the far corner of the wine cellar. God.
