What the tool that people use for checking Hard Disks

When selling a HD on here, whats the tool that people use to screenshot proof of good sectors etc? Is it CrystalDisk or something like that?

Or can anyone recommend a free tool for this?

best one is a free one called easus partition manager make sure you select the free one its brilliant

Crystal Disk Info and the demo of the HD Tune Pro utilities - the HD Tune Pro will allow you to carry out an error scan of your HDD/SSHD/SSD to see if any errors are picked plus the demo lasts for 15 days of free use.

    CrystalDiskInfo here.

Cheers guys. Will probs try them all out. Cant mark a 'best answer' as you've all helped!!

Another thing that may be useful to log is the SMART status - passmark.com/pro…htm
Of particular concern - reallocated sector count, pending sector count.
The pending sector count is suspect sectors that have not yet been reallocated, they should either revalidate good or reallocate when written, so a wiped disk should not have any pending.

On top of the other suggestions, one last (very useful tool) that you should have is Hard Disk Sentinel.
It reads the SMART data from your disks and gives a health report on them
